After the rush of getting children back to school with school/sports
physicals, and immunizations, it’s time to look to the upcoming
fall/winter and the inevitable flu season. Heartland Pediatrics
recommend that all patients older than 6 months be vaccinated for
influenza yearly. We offer both the Flu mist (nasal spray) as well as
the injectable influenza vaccine. Flu mist is not indicated for
children with asthma or chronic health problems. We offer only
Thimerosol-free influenza injectable vaccine.

We also wish to remind all patients over 16 years that a Menactra
booster is now recommended.

Finally, Gardasil is a series of three vaccines. Please call us to
check your child’s immunization record to make certain all 3 vaccines
were delivered.
